OUR STORY

BAKING A SWEETER LIFE

Before Pam Fulks even thought of launching a business, she was a mom of school-aged kids who baked items for school events when finances were too tight to contribute otherwise. A long-time home baker, she decided to take classes at a local craft store to learn more refined techniques. Then, feeling a little more confident in her skills, she began baking for her friends and co-workers. Pam’s mother encouraged her to step out on faith and a sprinkling of some sugar magic to pursue her dream of opening her own bakery.

In 2011 she began her baking business, and then in 2013, she opened a Tampa storefront designing elaborate wedding, shower, and other special occasion cakes. In 2017, she decided to focus on teaching in-studio cookie and cake decorating classes for kids and adults, and in 2020, she launched a virtual baking club for young bakers around the country to experience the joy of creative expression in the kitchen.

Thinking Outside the Cake Box

Pam’s passion is teaching others. The Sweet Bites Baking School focuses on bringing people, young and old, together through in-person and online decorating classes, baking classes, and event space. Another mission of Sweet Bites Baking School is to help others do what she did— turn their skills and talents into profitable businesses. As more and more people turn to work-from-home businesses, Pam wants to use her entrepreneurial journey to inspire and equip others to follow their sweet dreams.

Meet Pamela Fulks

Pam was born and raised in Albany, New York and transplanted to Florida. A mom of four children who range from preteen to adults, a grandmother to one granddaughter, and a caregiver for her mother with Alzheimer’s until her passing in 2021, family means everything to her.

They are a family of champion UNO players and lovers of Disney and Marvel. When Pam is not whipping up sweets with her baking and decorating students, she loves hanging on the little league football field to cheer on her son. She also stays involved in her community through Tampa-local professional organizations such as her local chamber of commerce, Working Women of Tampa Bay and Hearts & Heels Connection and Networking Group. While Pam has accomplished many of her dreams, she has a couple left to pursue, such as owning a commercial property and traveling throughout Europe.
